New Bar Openings in Brooklyn, September 2026

Brooklyn's bar scene welcomed a mix of neighborhood cocktail spots, wine-focused restaurants, and music venues in September 2026. From new drinking rooms in Williamsburg to a metal institution's return in Bushwick, the month's openings offered different ways to spend an evening across the borough.

This September 2026 roundup records bar openings in Brooklyn, from the latest to the earliest. It includes standalone bars as well as restaurants with meaningful alcoholic drink programs. Reopenings and new locations are identified as such.

Mythily

Williamsburg | Tamil & South Indian restaurant with a bar

Opened: September 30, 2026

Chef Rasika Venkatesa, a Top Chef alum, opened Mythily as a permanent home for cooking inspired by Tamil Nadu and South India. Named for her grandmother, the intimate restaurant follows earlier pop-ups and residencies and offers a more personal take on regional dishes.

A nine-seat bar accompanies the dining room, with a beverage program incorporating shochu-based drinks and house-made flavors. Mythily was one of the month's final restaurant debuts, bringing a distinctive new dinner-and-drinks option to South Williamsburg.

148 Noble Street

Greenpoint | Wine, vermouth, and New Orleans-influenced small plates

Opened: September 24, 2026

Chef Gabriel Borges, who previously worked at Chez Ma Tante, opened this neighborhood restaurant in the space formerly occupied by Noble wine bar. The cooking brings together European influences and a nod to Borges's New Orleans roots.

Wine and vermouth are central to the drinks offering, making it as much an option for a glass and a few plates as for a longer dinner. Its arrival marks another chapter for a Greenpoint address already associated with wine-focused hospitality.

susu's

Williamsburg | Neighborhood cocktails and weekend vinyl DJs

Opened: September 23, 2026

Brothers Michael Bishop-Myers and Steven Bishop opened Susu's as the kind of unpretentious neighborhood bar they'd want to visit themselves. Michael previously worked at Greenpoint's Pencil Factory, an influence reflected in the playful Pencil Pusher Negroni.

The bar combines cocktails, beer, wine, and casual food with vinyl DJ sets on weekends. Rather than a formal cocktail destination or an all-out nightclub, Susu's aims to be an easy place to settle in for a drink that can stretch into a full evening.

Gotham Burger Social Club

Williamsburg | Smash burgers and a new full cocktail bar

Opened: September 23, 2026

Gotham Burger Social Club opened its permanent Williamsburg location after building a following through pop-ups, its Lower East Side restaurant, and a previous Greenpoint residency. Founded by Mike Puma, the concept centers on its Oklahoma-inspired Gotham Smash burger.

The Grand Street outpost introduced a full cocktail program alongside a beer selection featuring local breweries. It's primarily a burger restaurant, but its bar service makes it a new option for casual drinks and dinner in the neighborhood.

Bebo

Brooklyn Heights | Georgian food and wine

Opened: September 23, 2026

Bebo brought Georgian cooking to Atlantic Avenue, with a menu built around dishes such as khachapuri and khinkali. Its arrival added a different culinary perspective to the neighborhood's restaurant scene.

The restaurant also features a bar and Georgian wine offerings, making the drinks program a natural extension of the food rather than a separate nightlife concept. It's a September opening to note for anyone interested in trying something beyond the usual cocktail-bar format.

My Friend Duke

Williamsburg | Corner cocktail bar

Opened: September 12, 2026

The team behind Mug's Ale House transformed the former Nicky's Unisex space into My Friend Duke, a new corner cocktail bar. Its hunter-green awning, shelves of spirits, framed photographs, and pink neon give the room an intimate, playful personality.

Unlike a sprawling restaurant or club, My Friend Duke is focused on the simple appeal of a neighborhood drinking spot. The opening added another dedicated cocktail destination to South Williamsburg's busy bar scene.

Ferguson's Country

Williamsburg | Southern comfort food & inventive cocktails

Opened: September 12, 2026

From the team behind Baba and Baba Cool, Ferguson's Country opened near McCarren Park with a small, country-inspired dining room and a Southern comfort-food menu. Its country-music jukebox sets the tone for an easygoing meal.

The beverage list draws on Southern traditions, with moonshine, mint juleps, corn-infused vodka martinis, and draft Alabama iced tea among the standouts. It's a restaurant first, but the distinctive drinks give it a place in September's bar-opening record.

Million Goods

Fort Greene | Natural-wine bar, listening room, and retail

Opened: September 10, 2026

Million Goods expanded from Greenpoint to a two-story Fort Greene flagship, bringing its menswear and natural-wine concept into a larger home. More than a straightforward shop, the new space pairs retail with places to linger.

A dedicated wine bar, hi-fi listening room, and garden blur the line between shopping, drinking, and a neighborhood gathering place. This was a new location of an existing brand, rather than the launch of an entirely new business.

Saint Vitus Bar

Bushwick | Heavy metal, hardcore, and live music

Opened: September 4, 2026

Saint Vitus Bar returned to the Brooklyn music scene at a new Bushwick address after leaving its longtime Greenpoint home. The venue took over the former Brooklyn Made concert space, opening with an Anthrax performance.

A mainstay of New York's metal and hardcore communities, Saint Vitus is more than a place to order a drink: live performances are the heart of the experience. This September date documents a reopening and relocation, not the founding of a new bar.

Peral

Bed-Stuy | Mexico City-inspired taqueria and cocktails

Opened: September 2, 2026

Peral opened beside Olmo as a collaboration between that Bed-Stuy restaurant's team and Mexico City's Cicatriz café and bar. Its casual, all-day approach includes house-made tortillas, tacos, coffee, and a menu with plenty of vegetarian-friendly options.

Frozen cocktails and micheladas help the space transition from daytime taqueria to evening cantina. Peral held limited preview events in August, but September 2 was its announced official opening, which is the date used here.
