Saint Vitus Bar
Brooklyn | Bushwick
Opened: September 4, 2026
📍 428 Troutman St, Brooklyn, NY 11237
One of Brooklyn’s most legendary music venues is back from the dead—and this time, it’s calling Bushwick home.
After closing its longtime Greenpoint location in 2024, beloved metal institution Saint Vitus returned at 428 Troutman Street, taking over the former Brooklyn Made music venue. The new location gives Saint Vitus a larger stage for what it does best: bringing metal, punk, hardcore, and underground music fans together under one roof.
Originally opened in 2011, Saint Vitus earned cult status for its intimate shows and performers ranging from Megadeth to members of Nirvana. Its Bushwick resurrection kicked off September 4 with a reopening show headlined by thrash metal legends Anthrax. For longtime regulars, it’s the return of a Brooklyn institution; for newcomers, it’s a chance to experience one of the city’s defining heavy music venues.
Salsamentaria La Milagrosa
Brooklyn | Bushwick
Opened: August 8, 2026
📍 112 Harrison Pl, Brooklyn, NY 11237
A little piece of Medellín has arrived in Bushwick, bringing Colombian comfort food, cocktails, and music to the corner of Harrison Place and Porter Avenue.
Founded by four women from Medellín, Salsamentaria La Milagrosa is a lively, community-minded neighborhood bar celebrating Colombian food and culture. Expect favorites like empanadas, salchipapas, and pastel de pollo alongside Colombian-inspired cocktails, DJs, live music, and community events.
The newcomer has already attracted attention: Colombian superstar Karol G visited, left a handwritten message on the wall, and shared a photo from inside. Beyond that celebrity moment, La Milagrosa’s appeal is its sense of community—a place to gather over food, drinks, and music, whether you stop by for a quick bite or stay for the night.
The Museum
Brooklyn | Bushwick
Opened: June 17, 2026
📍 1329 Willoughby Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237
Ever wished you could sip a cocktail while wandering through a natural history museum? Bushwick’s science-inspired drinking destination has you covered.
The Museum Bar + Gift Shop combines inventive cocktails with fossils, crystals, natural curiosities, and a dose of childhood wonder. Created by Misha Chavez and Bill Liu, the space unfolds in stages: an eight-seat Gift Shop bar at the front serves lighter, lower-ABV drinks inspired by tea, coffee, and pastries; an Exhibition Hall lined with curiosities leads to the main cocktail bar.
The drinks menu is organized into permanent and rotating special exhibits. The Insectarium blends honey gin, fig, wormwood, and actual insects, while Ocean Life combines rum, coconut, lime, Curaçao, and cuttlefish ink. Even the kitchen joins in, with dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets. Equal parts cocktail bar and cabinet of curiosities, The Museum is a good choice when you want a night out that feels a little outside the ordinary.
Jaywalker
Brooklyn | Bushwick
Opened: June 11, 2026
📍 573 Johnson Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11237
What happens when a Brooklyn craft distillery opens a cocktail bar? At Jaywalker, locally made spirits, classic cocktails, and live entertainment share the spotlight.
Located inside New York Distilling Company’s working distillery on Johnson Avenue, Jaywalker is named after the company’s flagship Jaywalk Rye whiskey, made using a revived heirloom rye grain. The cocktail program from Jamie Gordon and Jane Danger puts the distillery’s spirits front and center, with Martinis and Manhattans starting at $12 and drinks featuring Dorothy Parker Gin and other house-produced spirits.
The 3,000-square-foot space doubles as an entertainment venue, with DJs, live music, and special events. Chinese-inspired bites from Brooklyn’s Kings Co Imperial round out the experience. Whether you’re into whiskey or just looking for a new hangout near the Jefferson Street L stop, Jaywalker gives you another reason to explore Bushwick’s changing bar scene.
